2024 LADY MAVS ELITE SUMMER BASKETBALL CAMP
Welcome to the registration page for the Marvin Ridge Lady Mavericks Summer Basketball Camp. The Lady Mavs had another great season finishing 24-5 (which is another school record) and won their THIRD CONSECUTIVE conference title along with it's second conference tournament title. We had Ella Chepul, Kiley Lenahan, Kate Schindler and Cadence Douglas make this year's All-Conference Team and even had Ella Chepul make the All-District team. It's time though to get ready for next season now, and summer basketball camp is one part of the off-season preparation!
We will have two back-2-back sessions of camp this year. Session 1 will run from June 17 to June 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day with campers able to arrive at 8:45 a.m. and Session 2 will run from June 24 to June 27 from 1 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day with campers able to arrive at 12:45 p.m. Camp is open to those girls currently in grades 2-8 from any school. The only requirement is players need to be able to shoot on a 10-foot basket in order to participate. Camp will be run by the high school coach(es) and the high school players.
Campers should wear athletic shoes and clothing appropriate for running, jumping and stretching. Those not dressed appropriately will not be able to participate. We will have basketballs, but players are encouraged to bring their own basketball if they wish. If your daughter does bring one, I suggest writing your name and phone number on it. The size basketball we will be using is 28.5. Players can bring a snack and drink if they wish. They will have access though to the water fountains.
Camp format will be such that players will be divided by grade, size, and talent. Players will go through skill stations each day, scrimmage games of 1-on-1 through 5-on-5, and end-of-day competitions. The players will be pushed relative to their skill level. For example, those players entering the 9th grade trying to make their high school teams will be pushed harder than those just getting started.
The daily schedule will look like this:
8:45-9:00 Drop off/Shoot Around
9:00-9:15 Welcome and Stretching
9:15-10:30 Skill Work and Stations
10:30-10:45 Break
10:45-12:00 Scrimmaging and Contests
